Q&A with Our New Customer Success Manager Dan Fleetwood

Q1: Tell us a little bit about yourself - education, background?

Dan: I went to school for two years at the University of Washington before transferring to Central Washington University where I double majored in Communications and Business Administration with a focus on Marketing. For the past 8 years or so, I’ve been working on the data collection and full service side of the Market Research world. This gave me lots of experience in working with a wide variety of both quantitative and qualitative methodologies.  I’m also on the board of the Puget Sound Research Forum where I serve as the Sponsorship Chair this year and will be the VP/President Elect next year.

Q2: What were you up to prior to joining Survey Analytics?

Dan: Before joining Survey Analytics, I worked at Pacific Market Research as the Director of Project Management. There I led a team of 3 project managers. I was responsible for managing the internal job schedule and timeline, planning, and overseeing over 20+ projects at any given point. I also managed resources and tasks on projects which includes client management, questionnaire design and review, sample evaluation, quota management, cost analysis, and reporting.

Q3: Tell us about your new role as Customer Success Manager at Survey Analytics.

Dan: As a Customer Success Manager at Survey Analytics, I’m excited to both collaborate and develop partnerships with clients to help them meet their research needs and goals. I get to be there for clients and help them overcome any issues or roadblocks that they might be experiencing. At the end of the day, coming through for clients is really important to me.

Q4: How do you think your extensive market research background will help you succeed in this position?

Dan: I am very familiar with just about every quantitative and qualitative methodologies. I’ve tackled very large and complex projects and have succeeded so I know what it takes to get through those challenging projects. I think that client will appreciate my knowledge and expertise and hopefully they see me as a valuable resource.

Q5: If you were giving advice to someone in this field, what would you tell them?

Dan: Like Russell Wilson says, “The separation is in the preparation.” Never stop learning about new methodologies or techniques.

Q6: Outside of work, what are some of your favorite hobbies or interests?

Dan: I enjoy spending time with friends and family. My wife, Sarah, and I keep busy with our two little girls – Abby, who is 4 (soon to be 5), and Madison who is 18 months. I’m also a huge sports fan – Go Hawks! When there’s time, I enjoy getting a round of golf in as well.
