3 Cool Things We Learned During Small Business Week 2014


May 12th-16th, 2014 was Small Business Week 2014 organized by the U.S. Small Business Administration (@sbagov). We followed the hashtag, #SBW2014 on Twitter throughout the week and narrowed it down to three of our favorite things shared by brands we love as we celebrated Small Business Week 2014. Why are we talking about Small Business Week 2014 here anyways? In case you didn't know, Survey Analytics is small business proud! Our company is fairly young and currently we stand at 38 dedicated team members strong serving many enterprise level clients with our listening tools. Although we did not have Small Business Week 2014 on our agenda, it popped up and we found it very compelling and thought you would enjoy seeing some of the highlights too.

On Monday, May 12th, 2014 as Small Business Week kicked off at the Twitter headquarters in San Francisco (See the cool event recap), a tweet by Google Enterprise caught our eye and shared a great visualization of why cloud business tools are the key to success in small business. The results are shared in this infographic from a survey of young businesses.


On Tuesday, May 13th, 2014 as we were following the coverage on Twitter, we ran into a tweet by GoToMeeting about a great article they shared from Inc on 4 Ways Small Size is Your Biggest Advantage and made them into an infographic. What are those 4 things anyways? Small companies are accessible, approachable, specialized and speedy! As a small company, we sometimes tend to forget these things in our marketing strategy and they are all true about our business culture and why we are all here to begin with.


On Wednesday, May 14th, 2014, we saw visual.ly tweet about The Small Business Guide to Twitter. This interactive guide blew us away! Although we are active and think we know a lot about Twitter, it's still good to remind us where we currently stand and find areas where we can improve on utilizing the social network. Just like any other channel, it is important to set goals and measure those goals on Twitter.
