Webinar: Employee Engagement: Measure to Succeed Recap

First off, we’d like to thank everyone that attended our Employee Engagement: Measure to Succeed Webinar that aired March 5, 2015. A special thanks to Neal Bondy, Ex-Chariman of SHRM, Sal Falletta, EVP & MD of Organizational Intellegence Institue and our very own Vivek Bhaskaran, Founder of Survey Analytics for such an in-depth and insightful presentation about how to effectively engage employees in the workforce.

Here are some of the questions that came up during the presentation. If you have more questions please feel free to reach out to us!

Q: A common misconception is that the employee’s opinions don’t matter. What are some ideas that you have come up with to solve that misconception?

Sal: What they need to do is establish a feedback culture. This is a culture that is conducive to pulsing their workforce on a regular basis but more importantly you have to demonstrate the willingness to take action on these results. Typically in highly political cultures what they do is an annual survey and then behind closed doors they will sift through the data which then weeks and sometimes months go by before they even communicate to the employees and then we wonder why our employees become disillusioned with the survey effort. So it’s about getting employees involved from the start, promoting your survey effort and then taking action on the results even if it’s just small steps.

Q: How do you communicate taking action on data that has been collected through an organizational climate survey or an employee engagement survey?

Neal: What I recommend to my executive teams that I’m working with is that if you are not going to do anything, don’t ask the question.  Because all you’re doing is heightening people’s anxiety. So if you’re not committed to make something happen when you find out that there’s something you need to do then don’t ask. The thing that is very critical, is that before you get too far into the process is that you get a very clear sense from the team that they are committed to doing something with the data when they get it back.

Q: Who are some of the customers using FlashLet

Vivek: We are looking for pilot customers. Some of our current customers are testing it right now and so if you are interested in piloting feel free to reach out to us.

Thanks again everyone who attended and for those who were unable to make it, you can access the slides here, view it below, or watch the replay.
