Today in the press, you may have seen that Survey Analytics President Vivek Bhaskaran publicly announced a company expansion to New Zealand and Australia. Along with two offices in the US (Seattle and Cincinnati), and a development and support location in Pune, India, we are pleased to now offer all of our services to the Oceania region. In a quickly evolving mobile marketplace, we look forward to bringing new, cutting edge mobile research tools to this area. Along with our cloud based Enterprise Research Platform, we will be offering mobile research applications and superior levels of account support to businesses and organizations in New Zealand and AustraliaMore news and an interview with Prashant Hari, the Survey Analytics sales representative for Oceania, is expected to be released following an interview by The Guide for Buyers of Marketing Research, GreenBook, in the next week.

Melbourne Airport in Australia uses the Survey Analytics platform and services to research a variety of points in the overall customer experience including curbside, check-ins, security, passport control and customs, baggage claim, facilities, travel demographic information and much more. “Survey Analytics has addressed each of our business challenges efficiently at a high level of expertise as we’ve encountered them throughout this project,” says Abigail Laqui, Market Research Coordinator at the Melbourne Airport. “And because of the success of our program, Survey Analytics is being extended to other airport departments and teams, changing the way we do business.”

How do we define data privacy today?

The mobile technology frontier and our levels of comfort with technology have drastically changed over the last decade. Data that Internet users considered private information 10 years ago is now shared publicly and easily accessible to our friends, family, schools, employers, and more. Being the first generation to grow up surrounded by mobile technology and social media, millennials have a new view that is changing data privacy as we know it. Since the early 1900s, we have practiced ways of private communication that are not really 100% private. From telegraphs in the early 1900s to social media in the past decade - privacy in mainstream communication has not really changed. There is someone there and there has always been someone there moderating and pushing out your message for you. However, data privacy with the rise of technology is quickly changing. There are many dissimilarities between the millennial generation and their cohorts when it comes to what they consider private information, and the levels of trusting businesses with private information are quickly decreasing. In order to gain insights and continue our research on the up and coming millennial generation, it is crucial that we rethink and restructure the way we approach them.

Feature Spotlight: Get Places Faster with Navigation Hot Key Shortcuts

A very exciting and big enhancement in your Survey Analytics account is that you can get to different areas of your account with a simple keystroke in a second. There navigation hot key shortcuts were designed with the goal of helping you edit your surveys and jump to navigation areas quicker than ever before. These hotkeys are a lowercase letter or letter(s) that hover over all of main navigation items and side panel navigation for the "Edit Survey" section. Type the letters that you see and you will be to that area of your count instantly!

The top navigation shortcut keys will bring you to surveys (s), edit survey (ea), send survey (d), reports (r), mobile (m), integration (i), analytics (a) and panels (p). 

The edit survey left panel navigation keys will take you to add/edit questions (ea), survey overview (eo) settings (ed), security (es), e-mail notification (en), variable mapping (ev), library (el), and MediaBunker (em).

Try these new shortcuts in your Survey Analytics account today! Feel free to leave us feedback on this enhancement and if there is anything we can do to make your user experience even better.

Tip of the Week: Design Better Surveys with Collaboration

Setting up a survey is not just a one person job, and the best surveys are a work of collaboration. People are always disappointed when they see low response rates to a survey they whip up and send out to their database in ten minutes. Truth be told, surveys are scientific. Often people sending out a survey have no control of the sample size and poor wording in the questions. There are many crucial details that someone writing or designing a survey can often overlook. What may look as well explained and clear intentions for people to complete your survey in your eyes may not make any sense to your target audience of respondents. From the font, layout, length, consistency, wording, order of questions and the number of answers to choose from - optimizing your survey for best results alone is unrealistic.

After creating a draft of your survey, you can easily send a link on to your peers or even your boss to carefully review the survey before it is published. This simple process takes out the having to gather people around your screen or making sure that everyone can login to view the survey properly. Survey Analytics offers a unique draft and collaboration survey mode where your peers can review and provide comments on a per question basis. On top of this - everyone that has the survey link while it is in draft and collaboration mode can see the feedback and responses from others reviewing it in real time. All changes made to the survey are audited so you can double check the corrections made by your peers.

From here, enter one e-mail address per line to add reviewers to your survey draft. When you are finished, simply click update survey status. See the picture below for where to find the survey status and how to easily change it. All notes while drafting the survey will be removed after turning it back to active so you can deliver your survey for live responses.

Feature Spotlight: Create Your Own Custom Panel Pages

Today's feature spotlight is on our panel management tool, and how you can now further customize your panel with your own unique custom HTML panel pages. These pages can be displayed as links in your main navigation or as links in your footer. Creating custom panel pages are a great way for you to embed youtube videos, create a testimonials page, a live feed of social media channels, and whatever else you choose to help in your panel recruitment strategy. You can also link to external pages such as your website, blog, or a contact page. 

This new feature is one of the many new items among the new Survey Analytics User Interface. Take advantage of customizing your panel and refreshing the content often to get the most out of your search engine placement and to help develop an SEO strategy for your panel landing page and welcome site. Our platform supports HTML in your custom panel pages allowing you to take full control and customize your pages to your requirements.
